Hi, I'm Colette,Â
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little more. I believe that connection starts with understanding where we might overlap in beliefs and life experiences. In my opinion, you should know who I am and what I feel passionate about. This way, you’ll understand whether we fit well together.
I’ve got a unique flavor—it’s not for everyone, and that, my friend, is okay.Â

The Journey That Shaped Me
I spent the first half of my life on the East Coast, growing up in New Hampshire and spending summers on the coast of Maine. The rugged beauty of those landscapes instilled in me a deep appreciation for simplicity and nature—something I later realized was at the core of my passion for organization and open space.
In 1993, I migrated to Boulder, Colorado, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology at the University of Colorado. But life had other plans for me. Instead of pursuing that path, I found my way into entrepreneurship, launching Colette’s Cleaning Service in 1998. Building that business from the ground up—eventually managing a team of 13 extraordinary employees—taught me the practicalities of running a company and the importance of structure, efficiency, and creating harmony in our clients' physical spaces.
Then came a turning point. In 2000, I married a remarkable fella and felt the pull toward adventure. We released all our worldly possessions, packed our lives into backpacks, and bought one-way tickets to the Caribbean, intending to learn how to sail. This walk-about lasted almost five years—it was a time of exploration, discovery, and deep personal transformation.
Â
It included some incredible experiences that were also challenging, which is what I've come to believe life is ALL about.Â

That chapter of my life was filled with spontaneity, freedom, and the stripping away of everything "extra" which reinforced what I now know to be true: we don’t need as much as we think we do, and sometimes, we carry clutter in ways that go far beyond our physical surroundings.

Coming Home to My Calling
For the last 20 years, I’ve been back in Boulder, managing Room to Room Organizing, my Professional Organizing company. My work goes beyond just tidying up a home; it’s about creating home sanctuaries that support well-being rather than drain it. I’ve had the privilege of stepping into hundreds of homes, witnessing firsthand how clutter—whether personal or a partner’s—can silently erode peace, connection, and joy.
Through this work, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the emotional weight that disorganization can carry. I’ve helped countless couples create balance in their shared spaces, reducing inventory, implementing organizing remedies, and, most importantly, fostering healthier relationships through intentional living. My experiences with these couples inspired me to write my book, Clutter And Couples: How To Organize Your Home & Transform Your Relationship. Each home I entered, I witnessed many of these couples fraught with tension and frustrated with each other's stuff. I'm passionate about helping couples learn better tools to communicate their needs and create a safe, nurturing relationship that will enhance their home space for decades.Â

Embracing My Own Evolution
The past two decades weren’t just about helping others declutter—I had my own internal decluttering to do. I went through a divorce, untangled years of codependency, and serial monogamy, and eventually arrived at a place I never thought I’d love: living alone. What I once feared the most in my life—being alone—has become one of my greatest joys. Go figure.Â
Beginning in 2020, my personal journey deepened even further as the world navigated some pretty hefty concepts with Covid. I trained with Jaiya and became certified in her Erotic Blueprint Coaching techniques, expanding my work to include intimacy within relationships. I’ve always been sex-positive, thanks to my mom’s openness and my early realization that I exist joyfully in the middle of the sexuality spectrum. My life has been full of love for both men and women and with each experience of loving other humans, I’ve gained more understanding and compassion for myself. It's been an unexpected and fascinating path of learning about attachment styles, my own conflict-avoidant behaviors, becoming trauma-aware, and how all of that impacts nervous system activation in me and those around me.
Â
Why This Matters
I share all this with you, because I want you to understand that I don’t just talk about organizing spaces—I talk about organizing lives. My journey has been one of releasing, redefining, and reshaping my life to be exactly what I want it to be. And that’s what I want for you too.
Your home and relationship should serve you in a way that feels safe, connected, and loving. Life is so much richer when it’s not in constant turmoil or conflict. Whether you’re struggling with physical clutter, emotional discontent, or relational challenges, I’m here to help you clear the path.
If you’re ready to create a home and life that feels spacious, intentional, and deeply aligned with who you are, let’s explore what’s possible—together.
